Tithing

As a member of MormonGirlz, we invite you to show your faith and make a generous offering from your heart. These funds allow us to carry on our important work throughout the world.

The Lord’s people have always paid tithes and offerings. The word “tithing” actually means one-tenth, because anciently Israel set aside a tenth of their income for the Lord. In the modern church, members still pay a tenth of their income as a sign of their devotion.

It is necessary to pay a full tithe to be worthy to attend the temple and receive all the ordinances that will allow you to enter the celestial kingdom. Paying a tithe brings not only peace of mind, but also temporal blessings. When we pay our tithing, we demonstrate to the Lord that we put his kingdom before our own selfish desires.

Verily, thus saith the Lord, I require all their surplus property to be put in the hands of the bishop of my church in Zion,

For the building of mine house, and for the laying of the foundation of Zion and for the priesthood, and for the debts of the Presidency of my Church.

And this shall be the beginning of the tithing of my people.

And after that, those who have thus been tithed shall pay one-tenth of all their interest annually; and this shall be a standing law unto them forever, for my holy priesthood, saith the Lord.
